Description

"Der Sommer" portrait plate - one of a four part series of the four seasons. The plate was manufactured by the Royal Porcelain Manufactory of Vienna circa 1914. It has the blue underglaze beehive mark. The plate is signed and dated by the artisr - J. Dahn '14 (1914). The plate is 9 inches in diameter and has a cobalt blue boarder with gold overlay decoration. The center portrait is of a young girl in a feather hat with a bouguet of summer daisies. There are no scratches, cracks or imperfections.
